Reward

Leonard Atlas’ 2nd Gear in the Mechanics of Success is ‘Reward’. He mentioned 3 points that I will relay to you.
First, he stresses the Why, not the How, is critical to success. He tells the story of swimming with his 3 and 5 year old daughters. Their mother was sitting nearby while Atlas was in the water with the girls. Somehow, he was momentarily focused on the 5 year old when Mom started screaming and the 3 year old was bobbing. In an instant, Atlas was clutching his 3 year old to safety. He doesn’t know what stroke he used to save the little one. Obviously, he had plenty of motivation to cover the distance to save her life. As he blatantly states, the Why keeps us anchored when other the storms of doubt assail.
Secondly, once the Why is firmly established, success becomes a naturally requirement. It is a process that dictates the success. Practicing desired behavior again and again produces desired results. Therefore, success is imminent.
Finally, Atlas shared CA’s (remember, CA means Corporate America) attitude toward goal-setting. It is the standard. When numbers must be hit to measure success or failure, setting the goal is paramount. Atlas sees CA’s method as flawed. He believes the answer is in the goal-GETTING, not the goal-setting. He states that repeated achievement inspires more achievement. In VMDirect, it’s all about ‘connecting people, changing lives’ and it ain’t half-bad getting rewarded for it.
