PRWeb.com Received The First Press Release From BlueSkyBrothers.com

April 25, 2007

Press Release writing makes sense to me.

I’m not sure what that says about me exactly.

Partnerships are quirky relationships. Good ones are very unique and far-between. What makes them ‘good’, I believe, is their functionability (Spellcheck says I just invented a word…..LOL) under pressure.

Think about it: for anyone to go into business for him/herself is ‘risky business.’ So, getting the business off of the ground is paramount to achieving goals, never mind eating and paying the mortgage. Throw a blossoming, one-year old relationship into this recipe, and one might think it’s the ingredients of disastrous results.

Greg and I have spent years preparing for Blue Sky Brothers. We have done a gaggle of jobs in order to find that we are virtually unemployable (so our wives tell us). Fortunately for our lives, we found each other before we had become too spoiled and set in our ways.

Last Friday, we committed to make BlueSkyBrothers.com into a ‘real’ business. While we thought of it as a business, we were treating it as a hobby. This conclusion is a topic worthy of its own post. Thus, we were a little delusional when it came to meeting expectations. As we were discussing where we wanted to go with this venture, it occurred to us that we had to change our mindset. We did so easily, like flipping a light switch. As for me, this decision was pressure-relieving.

Because of the mutual respect and uncanny ‘like-mindedness,’ we have an inherent trust for each other. It is rare, very rare. Seriously, I cherish this relationship right after the ones I have with my wife and child. I suggest if you are so fortunate, that you make sure you show your appreciation to your business partner often.

(Some friendly, free advice: if you can partner well with someone, your business will grow exponentially!)

In light of these conclusions, we agreed to apply our years of knowledge and experience in a focused manner. We spent four hours (seemed like two), hammering our thoughts and feelings into a business plan.

So, while I stated a few days ago that I drew the ‘short straw’, actually, I get to do what I love: write. Greg and I agreed on ‘working smarter, not harder’. Rather than for me to learn the technical aspects of back-office, site-building, I would do the things he doesn’t want to do that needs to be done. Fortunately for me, those tasks happen to play to my strengths and desires.

Now, I love to write press releases. Greg submitted my first one today to PRWeb, coming soon, “to a theatre near you.”
