Power of Wordpress and Social Bookmarking

September 5, 2007

I want to illustrate the power of using Wordpress and all of it's awesome plugins and the power of social bookmarking.

On September 1st, 2007, I posted an article called, "Create a Website Using Wordpress." Yesterday I was reviewing my stats and I noticed that I was getting a lot of traffic from the keyword phrase, "website with wordpress."

I followed the link back only to find something amazing.

Key Things to Remember:

  • The post went live on September 1st 2007.
  • I noticed that I was getting traffic on September 4th, 2007.

I decided to do screen shots of the results on this post….

    Greg,
You guys consistently do quality work. I can wait to get my hands on your new product. I am sure it will be a big seller! Remember, it will never be complete, you can always make it better :) so let’s get it going!!!!

    Joe,

Words of wisdom and you are right in the fact that we can always improve upon it. It is one of my weaknesses. I work on things, then work on them some more and then do it some more. Always trying to improve the results.

Bottom-line it keeps me from getting things fully implemented. I am working on it right now to make it happen.

    whew!

Thanks for the kick in the arse! :-D

Much success has come from social networking sites, still trying to figure it all out though.

I’ve gotten a fair share of traffic, but I’m wondering if the traffic coming from these sites will be valuable or not.

    Hi Jason and Dr. Cmoe,

The social aspect of the net is really cool and ever changing. Traffic from these sources is excellent. It’s targeted, which is very important. And by offering quality information it can help you establish yourself as a credible source and increase your readership.

    Thanks for the comments BTW

    Greg

    Hi Gregg,

I see you say that the social traffic is good targeted traffic. I’m not entirely sure. I see them come from a social site, view the post they clicked on to see, and leave. The google searchers on the other hand more often hang around.

    Hi Peter,

Organic traffic is always good but I am finding that a lot of the social traffic is normally viewing several pages and they actual convert pretty well too. But both are better than paying for it.

    Greg

Got something to say?
