Using Video For Fun and Business

Tonight a buddy of mine (from the 30 day challenge) and I were chatting online. Our chat became an exchange of videos that we thought were funny or good. So we proceeded to send links to each other and he sent me a link that showed different things you could do with your desk cam.
I forgot all about this video I did in the effort of fun, but I sent it to him and he thought it was funny. Again, this is another great example of how video can really get your message across. I’ve included the video below and only need to remind you that I did this while playing around. All in all, video is a powerful tool, you can use for your business.

Power of Wordpress and Social Bookmarking

I want to illustrate the power of using Wordpress and all of it's awesome plugins and the power of social bookmarking.
On September 1st, 2007, I posted an article called, "Create a Website Using Wordpress." Yesterday I was reviewing my stats and I noticed that I was getting a lot of traffic from the keyword phrase, "website with wordpress."
I followed the link back only to find something amazing.

- The post went live on September 1st 2007.
- I noticed that I was getting traffic on September 4th, 2007.

I was reluctant to publish this post because I wasn’t sure that people would find value from it. However, I thought about it again and decided that I didn’t want to assume people new about this awesome technique.
Being a subscriber (if you’re not, you should subscriber to this feed: http://feeds.feedburner.com/BlueSkyBrothers), you already know that I absolutely believe in wordpress as the best CMS/Blog interface. I make this statement based on three reasons.
1. Ease of Use:
From the install to the set-up to daily management, Wordpress is the easiest that I’ve found to work with. Most hosting services (I use Blue Host), have a program called Fantastico, which allows you to easily install the blogging program. The manual install is a little tougher but still not that difficult.
Designing your blog is easy with all the free themes available. However, my favorite system is the Semiologic Pro Package, which does cost you money. But if you plan on building a business it’s money well spent.
The plugins, that are available, add all kinds of functionality but I’ll talk about that more with the next category.
2. Powerful:
Every time I post new content and I hit “publish” I ping a massive list of directories, including search engines. How cool is that?
The plugins avaliable for Wordpress are hot! All of the add-on plugins provide unbelievable functionality. I just added two on Friday that add sticky-ness and a means to make more money to my site. The first one is called Comment Relish and the second is called Feed Footer If you want to see how they work, leave a comment and you can see how comment relish works and to see how feed footer works sign-up for my feed and notice the banner ad at the bottom of the feed.
3. The Results:
Using Wordpress to set-up your website has resulted in more traffic, more leads and more customers for my business. Jerry and I only use Wordpress now, and we only manage our website with Wordpress as the CMS (Content Management System.) The days of the static sites are over. Combining the website process with the integrated power of a blogging system such as Wordpress is the only way Jerry and I believe is the way to go.
Since we’ve move to this model we have seen a 35% growth in our business.
So bottom-line recommendation: create a website using wordpress and you won’t go wrong.
