Communicate Easily with Skype & Meebo
July 31, 2007
Go back just 3 years ago.
Had you said to me, “I’ll Skype you when I get home.”
Or, “Meebo me later.”
I would have said, “What?”
Now, those 2 weird words are fundamental to peer-to-peer communication these days.
As you probably know, Skype is an amazing verbal tool of conversation. Simply put, it is a telecommunications platform transmitted over the internet. The quality is crystal-clear. The other person sounds as if s/he is in the next room. It is really good stuff.
Meebo is the mother IM of all IM’s. It is a basecamp for the Instant Messengers. So, when you want to IM, all you have to do is go to Meebo and connect from there. It brings them all together and functions like a hub. Good stuff still.
“The next time you are in dire straits, Meebo me after you have Skype’d 9-1-1.” LOL!

July 29, 2007
It doesn’t make much sense to go through the 30 Day Preseason, watch all of the videos, and leave it at that. So, Greg came over to my home yesterday to walk me through all of the ‘ins-n-outs’.
WOW!
Firefox is amazing! “Where have you been all of my life, you foxy mama!”
It makes navigating E-A-S-Y! Dude, it’s sooooo cool, that when you restart your computer, Firefox will ask you if you want to go back to a previous session.
You might be thinking, “Huh?”
“She” asks me if I want to go back to a “session” or the last time I was surfing and open all of those sites for me.
“Heck yeah!”……..(I live in Texas and I’m a Christian……..whadya expect?)
Dude, this feature just scratches the surface. Get this: it’s web-based. Now, you can leave home without it…..your computer, that is.
“So long, IE………hel-looo, Foxy Mama.”

July 28, 2007
Recently I made a shift. To some this is a big shift and for others not such a big deal.
For me the actual shift wasn’t a big deal until I actually made it and finally realized what I had been missing out on.
I’m talking about shifting from Internet Explorer to Mozilla’s Fire Fox.
Funny thing is that I new of this browser before but never did anything about it. In fairness, I need to thank Ed Dale of the 30 Day Challenge for providing information as to why Fire Fox is so good.
Bravo!
If you want some insight as to all the cool plugins that can be used to customize your browsing experience then visit this post first from Ed’s blog - Getting Foxy - Part One
There are so many plugins to choose from you literally can find anything you need or you didn’t realize you needed.
I’m looking for one right now that can actually walk my dog for me!
Here is some additional information about Mozilla’s Fire Fox…
Mozilla is not a traditional software company. We are a global community and public benefit organization dedicated to improving the Internet experience for people everywhere.
We work in the open through a highly disciplined, transparent and cooperative process to coordinate the development and marketing of Mozilla technologies and products as a wholly-owned subsidiary of the nonprofit Mozilla Foundation. The Mozilla Corporation has no outside shareholders. The Mozilla Foundation is a California non-profit corporation exempt from federal income tax under IRC 501(c)3.

Web Site Traffic With StumbleUpon
July 26, 2007
Recently I conducted a little test with StumbleUpon and a Squidoo lens to see what it could do for my web site traffic.
WOW!
I put together a lens on a new affiliate program that was recently rolled out at MarketingSoftwareTools.com. Now the lens provides great information and additional tools. Check Out the lens here: http://www.squidoo.com/AffiliateEarning/
Well I simply stumbled the lens and apparently others thought it was pretty good too.
Within a matter of 15 minutes I received 150 uniques visitors directly from StumbleUpon. How cool is that?
That may not seem like a lot and in perspective it may not be, but to me that was a great test and validates the value of StumbleUpon.
If you haven’t heard of StumbleUpon, then read the explanation of this service I found on Wikipedia. If you online and you want to drive more web site traffic to you blog, articles or website then ya need to use StumbleUpon

StumbleUpon - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
StumbleUpon is a web browser plugin that allows its users to discover and rate webpages, photos, videos, and news articles. These webpages are typically presented when the user — known within the community as a Stumbler — clicks the “Stumble!” button on the browser’s toolbar. StumbleUpon chooses which new webpage to display based on the user’s ratings of previous pages, ratings by his/her friends, and by the ratings of users with similar interests. i.e. it is a recommendation system which uses peer and social networking principles. There is also one-click blogging built in as well. Users can rate, or choose not to rate, any webpage with a thumbs up or thumbs down, and clicking the Stumble button resembles “channel-surfing” the web. Toolbar versions exist for Firefox, Mozilla Application Suite and Internet Explorer.

Are You Prepared To Make Money Online?
July 25, 2007
Are you ready from a business administrative perspective.
I’m talking about preparing yourself for protection from many of the downsides of becoming successful in business.
Have you prepared your business for this trouble that may lay ahead?
How you set-up your business structurally will determine the overall health of that business.
For instance, are you going to establish your business as an LLC or “S” Corp? These are things to think about and the structure you eventually use will determine the tax advantages and protection you will have.
Something to think about and take action on.
If you want to learn more about the best structure to utilize then visit: MyCorporation.com and do your due diligence.

Internet Marketing Seminars
July 24, 2007
You always hear that you need to attend Internet Marketing seminars to establish your network, find JV’s and learn new information. Makes sense.
But how many times have you gone to a high priced event, paid for the travel and then only been hit with pitch after pitch?
This just pisses me off!
How would you like to make a stand and send a message that this is unacceptable?
Here’s your chance.
Over at Woody Maxim’s blog he has set-up a way for your voice to be heard…
His post, Stop the PITCH-FEST Seminars, provides you the opportunity to state your position.
Listen, going to these seminars are good, if the information is valuable and meeting new people, establishing new relationships is also good. But not if you get hit all weekend long to join this $3k coaching program and that coaching program.
Ugh!
Take a stand and let the Internet Marketing industry know that this is unacceptable.
Greg

VRE Toolbar Is Worth Having
July 23, 2007
For those of you who are relatively new to the Web 2.0 world, may I make a suggestion: consider downloading the “VRE Toolbar”.
It refers to over 100 websites that will give you the information you need with the point-n-click of your mouse. “Ideas, Keywords, Domains, Hosting, Design, Content, Outsource, Promote, and News” are the subjects in my toolbar.
And better yet, it accommodates your Firefox browser.

July 22, 2007
Sometimes I’m a late bloomer, I admit it. But I have come to the conclusion that this is primarily due to my stubbornness to buck the system. I do not follow the stream of popularity. Unfortunately, because I’m like this, I sometimes miss out on something good.
I heard of the 4 Hour Workweek but did not act on it.
I’m a pain in the arse, just ask my business partners. Sometimes this hurts me and sometimes it helps, but honestly, I can sleep at night. And for me that’s what is important.
Late last night while trying to kill some time (I made the mistake of going to the mall with my wife and two daughters), I visited the local Barnes and nobles looking for something of value.
I stumbled on Tim Ferriss‘ book “The 4 Hour Workweek.”
Friends came over last night so I didn’t get a chance to read it, but fortunately today I was able to spend some time in the book. I am now approx 150 pages into the book and I love it. Every idea makes complete sense. Executing these ideas is another challenge, that I’ll need to figure out and maybe, just maybe the last 150 pages will help do that.
But if you want a good read that will make you think, then check out the book. It’s worth your time. Also visit Tim’s website and blog at: The 4 Hour Workweek.
Here’s a video that provides more detail:
